Fifteen years after selling everything including her home to serve the Lord on the mission field, Cricket
returned to Cape Town where she continued serving the Lord as an independent missionary under the guidance of her church.
Because of her passion for God’s Word and children, she began volunteering at a private Christian Edu-Care & Pre-School in Khayelitsha, teaching the little ones about Jesus.
When asked to lead a Bible study for the staff, Cricket was surprised to realise just how much she enjoyed leading women in getting to know God and His Word.
On seeing the number of children wandering the streets of Khayelitsha in the afternoons and during the school holidays, the Lord laid it on Cricket’s heart to begin a Holiday Bible Club where children could be safe and learn about Jesus.
Another desire was the possibility of providing a facility where children could be helped with their homework instead of wandering the streets, getting into trouble.
Out of a God given desire to reach as many people as possible for Jesus in the community of Khayelitsha, Cricket founded Lingomso Ministries.
Lingomso Ministries will be lead by Cricket Meyer, trustees and community based teachers & staff.
